Restaurant Style Paneer Butter Masala | Paneer Makhani


Paneer Butter Masala is a traditional Indian recipe made from paneer which is cooked in rich creamy tomato and butter gravy. It goes well along with Roti, Naan, Kulcha and even rice.
Lets see how to make this.


Ingredients:
Paneer/Cottage Cheese - 1 cup (cut into cubes)
Oil - 2 tbsp
Onion - 2 medium (chopped)
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Tomato - 2 big (chopped)
Cashewnuts - 6 to 8
Green Chillies - 2
Salt - 1.5 tsp or as per taste
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
Butter - 2 tbsp
Bay Leaf - 1
Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
Fresh Cream - 2 tbsp
Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp


Preparation:
Heat oil in a pan.
Add ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw smell is gone.
Add chopped onion and salt and saute for couple of minutes.
Add chopped tomatoes and saute until it turns soft. Add green chillies as well.
Add this to a blender and make a smooth paste. Keep aside.
Soak the cashewnuts in water for about 20 minutes. Grind into a smooth paste and keep aside.
Take another pan. Add butter to it and wait until it melts.
Add bay leaf and cinnamon to this and saute for few seconds.
Add red chilli powde next and saute on a medium flame until the colour turns red. This will give nice colour to the gravy.
Add the tomato and onion paste that was made earlier to this. Cook on a medium flame for 5 to 6 minutes.
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and saute.
Add cashew paste to this. The gravy starts to thicken. Add little water to this and adjust the consistency.
Add paneer cubes to this. Cook for few more minutes.
Add garam masala and kasuri methi and mix well.
Finally add fresh cream and mix well.
Simmer for another 2 minutes and turn off the flame.
Paneer Butter Masala is ready to be served!!!
