Paneer Tikka - Grilled on Tawa


Paneer has been known as farmer's cheese or curd cheese made by curdling heated milk with lemon juice, vinegar, or any other food acids.Today lets see how to make Paneer Tikka on tawa. It is one of best paneer recipes that can be served as starter or as an accompaniment. It is made from chunks of paneer, onion, capsicum marinated with a mix of spices and grilled on a tawa; usually served with green mint chutney.We can also use a microwave to grill them.

Ingredients
  1. Paneer cubes– 200gm
  2. Diced Capsicum – Red – ½ cup
  3. Diced Capsicum – Green – ½ cup
  4. Diced Onion – ½ cup
  5. Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
  6. Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  7. Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
  8. Garam Masala Powder – ½ tsp
  9. Jeera Powder – ¼ tsp
  10. Crushed Kasuri Methi – ¾ tsp
  11. Lemon – ½
  12. Thick Curd – ½ cup
  13. Besan – 1 tbsp
  14. Ginger Garlic paste – 1 tsp
  15. Salt – ½ tsp or to taste
  16. Ajwain – ¼ tsp
  17. Oil – ½ tbsp


Preparation:
  1. Take a large mixing bowl. Add curd to it.
  2. Add turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, jeera powder, kasuri methi
  3. Add besan, ginger garlic paste, salt, ajwain and oil.
  4. Mix well to form a paste.
  5. Squeeze in lemon. Add some water if paste is too thick.
  6. Add red and green capsicum, onion and paneer.
  7. Mix well until uniformly coated.
  8. Marinate for 30 minutes
  9. Take bamboo skewer.
  10. Insert Onion, Red Capsicum, Green Capsicum, Paneer.
  11. Repeat the sequence.
  12. Heat a tawa. Spread a teaspoon of oil.
  13. Place the skewers side by side.
  14. Grill on a low flame on all the sides until it turns slightly brown.
  15. Remove onto a kitchen towel once done.
  16. Serve hot with green chutney.
To get that extra crunchiness, you could also grill it in the microwave for 5 minutes.
