Ingredients:
- Pastry Dough - to make 2 sheets of 9 inch diameter
- Blueberry/Strawberry Jam - 1/2 cup
- Egg - 1
- Icing Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Milk - 2 tablespoon
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degree centigrade.

- Divide the dough into 2 portions. Using a rolling pin, flatten out each portion into 9 inch circles. Dont roll them thinner.
- Use a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out equal number of hearts from each of the pie crusts.
- Place half of the hearts on a tray lined with parchment paper.
- Place a generous amount of the blueberry/strawberry jam in the middle of each heart.
- Beat the egg well and apply a thin layer around the edges of the heart around the jam.
- Now place another heart on top of the jam and gently press down the edges with your fingers and seal it. Repeat the same with the remaining ones.
- Using a fork, press down the edges to seal them all in and to give a nice texture around the hearts.
- Brush the egg mixture on top of each of the hearts.
- Bake them at 180 degree centigrade for around 25 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and place on a cooling rack.
- As an optional step, you could add some glaze on top of the hearts using icing sugar and milk. Mix 1/2 cup icing sugar in 2 tablespoons of milk and mix well to get a smooth, sligthly runny consistency. Drizzle over the hearts while they are still warm.
