Ingredients:
- Moong Dal - 3/4 cup
- Oats - 3tsp
- Chopped Onion - 1 no.
- Chopped Green Chillies - 2 to 3 nos.
- Chopped Ginger - 1 inch stick
- Chopped Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
- Chopped curry leaves - 2 tsp
- Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - for shallow frying
Preparation:
- Soak the moong dal in water for 4 hours.
- Pressure cook moong dal along with little salt until 2 whistles.
- Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan.
- Add chopped onion and saute until it turns soft.
- Add chopped ginger, green chillies, curry leaves, little salt and fry until onion starts turning slightly brown.
- Add the garam masala and mix well.
- Now add the cooked moong dal and mix well.
- When the mixture becomes cool, add powdered oats and coriander leaves.Mix all the ingredients well.
- Divide the mix into small portions and make tikkis out of it.
- Heat oil in a tawa.
- Place the tikkis one by one and shallow fry on a low flame until one side turns golden brown. Repeat the same on the other side as well.
- Remove from flame and serve hot with green chutney.
