Zebra Cake


Ingredients:

  1. Maida - 3 cups
  2. Salt - 1/4 tsp
  3. Baking Powder - 2 tsp
  4. Eggs - 4
  5. Butter - 200gm
  6. Sugar - 1 cup
  7. Milk - 1 cup
  8. Cocoa powder - 3 tbsp
  9. Sugar - 1 tbsp
  10. Milk - 1/4 cup
  11. Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
Preparation:
  1. Mix all the dry ingredients (from 1 to 3) together.
  2. Take a bowl. Add butter and sugar and mix well with the help of an electric hand mixer.
  3. Add the eggs one by one and beat well.
  4. Add the vanilla essence.
  5. Now alternate adding gradually the flour mixture in small quantities and 1 cup of milk. 
  6. Take a separate bowl. Add the cocoa powder, 1 tbsp sugar and 1/4 cup milk and mix well.
  7. Now add 2 cups of the previously prepared batter to this cocoa mixture and mix well. In this way, we will have a white batter and a brown batter.
  8. Grease the baking tray with some butter (preferably a big tray).
  9. Now pour/drop 1 spoon of the white batter in the middle. Add 1 spoon of the brown batter on top of the previously poured white batter. Repeat the same until you are done, so that you would get alternate circles of white and brown batter in the tray.
  10. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degree celsius and bake for 55 to 60 minutes, until a toothpick that is inserted comes out clean.
