Ingredients:
- Sardine Fish (cleaned and slit evenly) - 6 nos.
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
- Red Chilli Powder - 1.5 tbsp
- Fennel seeds powder - 1 tbsp
- Black Pepper powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Water - for the batter
- Oil - for frying
Preparation:
- Mix all the ingredients (from 2 to 6).
- Add some water at a time until you get a thick paste of medium consistency.
- Marinate the fish with this batter and keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add the marinated fish to the oil and fry on both sides, on a medium flame.
- Remove from oil once done.
- Server with rice and curry.
NOTE: This is a kerala dish. Excellent when fried using coconut oil.
