Sardine Fish Fry


Ingredients:
  1. Sardine Fish (cleaned and slit evenly) - 6 nos.
  2. Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  3. Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
  4. Red Chilli Powder - 1.5 tbsp
  5. Fennel seeds powder - 1 tbsp
  6. Black Pepper powder - 1/2 tbsp
  7. Water - for the batter
  8. Oil - for frying

Preparation:
  1. Mix all the ingredients (from 2 to 6).
  2. Add some water at a time until you get a thick paste of medium consistency.
  3. Marinate the fish with this batter and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan.
  5. Add the marinated fish to the oil and fry on both sides, on a medium flame.
  6. Remove from oil once done.
  7. Server with rice and curry.

NOTE: This is a kerala dish. Excellent when fried using coconut oil.
