Kerala Style Pazham Pori (Banana Fritters)


Ingredients:

  • Nendran Banana - 2 nos.
  • All purpose flour - 3/4 cup
  • Powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup (based on sweetness required)
  • Salt - 1 pinch
  • Saffron food colour - 1 pinch (optional)
  • Water - for making the batter
  • Oil - for frying
Preparation:
  • Cut each nendran banana into 3 long pieces.
  • Prepare a batter with maida, powdered sugar, salt, colour. Add enough water to make a batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Dip each of the pieces in the batter and put them into the oil.
  • Fry on a medium flame.
  • When one side is done, fry the other side as well. Do not overdo it. The yellow colour should remain intact.
  • Remove from flame and use a tissue to remove the excess oil.
  • Serve hot with tea/coffee. Ideal as an evening snack.
