Ingredients:
- Nendran Banana - 2 nos.
- All purpose flour - 3/4 cup
- Powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup (based on sweetness required)
- Salt - 1 pinch
- Saffron food colour - 1 pinch (optional)
- Water - for making the batter
- Oil - for frying
Preparation:
- Cut each nendran banana into 3 long pieces.
- Prepare a batter with maida, powdered sugar, salt, colour. Add enough water to make a batter.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Dip each of the pieces in the batter and put them into the oil.
- Fry on a medium flame.
- When one side is done, fry the other side as well. Do not overdo it. The yellow colour should remain intact.
- Remove from flame and use a tissue to remove the excess oil.
- Serve hot with tea/coffee. Ideal as an evening snack.
