How to make a Lemon Tart | Lemon Tart Video Recipe


Last week i had posted a video on how to make a tart shell. This week i will show you how to make a Lemon Tart using that tart shell.

Ingredients
Tart Shell - 1
Eggs - 4
Lemon Juice - 4 tbsp
Lemon Zest - 1.5 tbsp
Corn Starch - 6 tbsp
Unsalted Butter - 6 tbsp
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Water - 1/2 cup


Preparation
Place water in a sauce pan and bring it to boil.
Add unsalted butter and let it melt completely.
Add lemon zest and sugar and stir until sugar gets completely dissolved.
Add lemon juice to the corn starch and make a smooth paste.
Reduce the flame to a medium and add the corn starch mixture to the sauce pan.
Stir it really well and get rid of any lumps.
Turn off the flame and let it cool for sometime.
while the mixture is still warm, whisk the eggs and add it in small batches to the mixture and whisk it really well. Do not allow the mixture to curdle.
Once you add the entire egg, cook this mixture on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes while continuously stirring it.
Swicth off the flame and cool down this mixture completely.
Pour this mixture into the Tart Shell.
Preheat the oven to 180 degree centigrade and bake the tart for about 20 minutes or until the filling becomes slightly thick.
Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack. Once it has cooled down, garnish with some fresh fruits and mint leaves.
The lemon tart is ready. You can either serve it chilled or have it as-is.
If you want to store the tart for few days, please keep it refrigerated. Else the bitterness from the lemon zest would increase and would make the tart bitter to taste.
