Homemade Mutton Curry | Easy Mutton Curry Video Recipe


Today's recipe is a Mutton Curry recipe, which i usually prepare at home and which goes well with rice,chapatti and appam.

Ingredients:
Mutton Pieces - 750gms
Sliced Onion - 3 big
Chopped Shallots - 1/2 cup
Ginger Garlic paste - 1.5 tbsp
Green Chillies - 3 to 4
Curry Leaves - 4 to 5 sticks
Chopped Tomato - 2 big
Chopped Coriander Leaves - 1/2 cup
Water - 1 cup
Oil - 3 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Bay leaf - 2
Salt - 1.5 tsp or to taste
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1.5 tbsp
Coriander Powder - 3 tbsp
Fennel Powder - 1 tsp
Black Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
Whole spices (Cardamom-3,Cloves-4,Cinnamon-1 inch stick,Star Anise-1/2, Maze -1small piece)



Preparation:
Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add mustard seeds and wait until it splutters.
Add the whole spices and stir it.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry until it truns slightly brown.
Add in chopped shallots and curry leaves.Add green chillies as well.
Add sliced onion, salt and fry until it turns slightly brown. You may add more shallots for that extra flavour.
Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and fry until the raw smell is gone.
Add fennel powder, black pepper powder and mix again.
Add cleaned and chopped mutton pieces and coat it well with the masala.
Add chopped tomatoes and coriander leaves.
Add water, give it a good mix.
Cover the cooker with the lid, and pressure cook on a medium flame for 5 to 6 whistles or until the mutton gets completely cooked.
Finally garnish with some chopped coriander leaves.
The Mutton curry is now ready to be served.
