Since summer has already kicked in and that the mangoes are in season, i wanted to make something cool and refreshing that both kids and we can enjoy. Hence i made Mango Falooda today and wanted to share the same with you all. You can quickly make this at your home with ingredients that are easily available in the market.
Ingredients:
Mango Puree - 1/2 cup (chopped mangoes)
Sabja Seeds - 2 tbsp
Chopped Mango Cubes - 1/2 cup
Semiya - 1/2 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Chopped Cherries - 1/4 cup
Chopped Pistachios - 1/4 cup
Raisins - 1/4 cup
Icecream scoops - 2 (mango or butterscotch flavor)
Preparation:
To make the Mango Puree, add chopped mangoes to a blender and blend until it forms a smooth paste. Please choose ripe mangoes.Refrigerate it until you make the other ingredients ready.
Add sabja seeds to a bowl and add water. Let it soak for 20 minutes. Add more water if required.Set Aside.
Heat a pan. Add milk, semiya and sugar to the pan and cook on a medium flame, until the semiya gets cooked completely.Allow this to cool down completely.
Alternately, you could cook semiya in water and add the milk separately to the falooda.
Chop the cherries and pistachios and set aside.
Now my ingredients are all ready. Lets make the falooda now.
Take a tall glass. Add chopped mangoes first followed by sabja seeds, semiya milk mixture and mango puree.
Add some chopped cherries, pistachios and raisins on top.
Repeat the layers until you fill 3/4th of the glass.
Top it up with 2 scoops of icecream.
And garnish with some pista flakes, cherries, mango cubes.
Chill this for about 30 minutes or an hour.
Mango Falooda is ready to be served!!!
