Poha Upma



Ingredients

  1. Thick poha - 1 cup
  2. Chopped onion - 1 nos.
  3. Slit green chillies - 3 to 4
  4. Peanuts - 10 nos.
  5. Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  6. Salt - to taste
  7. Curry Leaves - 10 nos.
  8. Chopped Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
  9. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  10. Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
  11. Water - to soak the poha
  12. Dry red chillies - 3 to 4
  13. Hing - 1/4 tsp
  14. Split urad dal - 1 tsp
  15. Lemon juice - 1 tbsp


Preparation

  1. Soak the poha in water for 3 to 4 minutes. Strain out the water and transfer to a different bowl. Squeeze out any excess water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add mustard seeds, dry red chilli, urad dal, hing, peanuts, curry leaves, turmeric powder and mix well. 
  4. Add green chillies, sliced onion, salt and saute well.
  5. Add the poha and mix well.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  7. Finally add the lemon juice and mix well.
  8. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
