Palak Green Gram Subji


Ingredients:

  1. Chopped Palak - 1 cup
  2. Green gram - 1/2 cup
  3. Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  4. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  6. Garlic cloves - 3 to 4 nos.
  7. Jeera powder - 1 tsp
  8. Oil - 2 tbsp
  9. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp


Preparation:

  1. Soak green gram in water for 30 mins.
  2. Pressure cook green gram along with salt and water and cook until 2 to 3 whistles.
  3. Take a frying pan. Add oil and mustard seeds and wait until it splutters.
  4. Add chopped palak to it.
  5. Add grated coconut, turmeric powder, chilli powder, crushed garlic, jeera powder and little salt (palak already has some salt content, hence add little salt)
  6. Mix well and cook the palak until done. Do not cover and cook.
  7. Now add the cooked green gram to this and mix well.
  8. Serve hot with roti or chappatti.
