Ladies Finger Subzi


Ingredients:
  • Chopped Ladies Finger - 1 cup
  • Chopped onion - 1 medium no.
  • Curry Leaves - 1 stick
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Grated Coconut - 3 tbsp
  • Lime Juice - 2tbsp
  • Oil - 2  to 3 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste

Preparation:
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add jeera and wait until it splutters.
  • Add the curry leaves.
  • Add the chopped onion and saute. Add salt and mix well, so that the onions become soft.
  • Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and mix well. Chilli powder can be substituted with green chillies.
  • Add grated coconut. This is optional.
  • Add the chopped ladies finger and saute. 
  • Cover with a lid and cook on a low flame, until done. Saute occasionally.
  • When done, mix in some lemon juice. This helps remove the stickiness.
  • Can be used as a side dish for rice or along with chapattis.
