Tea Time Snack


Ingredients:

  • Maida /All purpose flour - 1 cup
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Black Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Water - required to knead the dough
  • Oil - for frying

Preparation:
  • Add salt and black jeera to the maida and mix well.
  • Add 2 tbsp of oil and knead the dough for 2 to 3 minutes, so that it becomes soft.
  • Add water little by little and knead the dough well, so that it becomes soft.
  • Divide the dough into equal portions.
  • Take each portion and make a chapatti out of it.
  • Cut long pieces of the chapatti and further cut them into 2 inch long strips.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add the cut pieces into it and fry on a medium flame, until it starts changing its colour slightly.
  • When done, remove from oil and put on to a tissue, to drain out the excess oil.
  • Good to have along with a cup of tea!!


NOTE: You could also dust some sugar powder on to the snack, to make it sweet. In that case, you could add black sesame seeds instead of black jeera. These are also called as Diamond Cuts.
