Ingredients
- Fresh Strawberries – 1 cup
- Castor Sugar – 2 to 3 tbsp
- Water – 1 tbsp
- Egg White – of 1 Egg
- Gelatin – 1.5 tbsp
- Boiling Water – 1 tbsp
- Low Fat Yogurt – 1 cup
- Freshly cut strawberry slices for Garnish
Preparation
- Cut the strawberries into 2 halves.
- Add castor sugar and some water.
- Cook for 2 minutes on a low flame until the fruit turns soft.
- Take the strawberries out and blend them into a nice paste and keep aside.
- Beat the egg white until it becomes thick.
- Add 1 tbsp of castor sugar to this and beat until it becomes fluffy and keep aside.
- Add 2 tbsp of boiling water to the Gelatin and mix well until it dissolves.
- Now transfer the Strawberry puree into a big bowl.
- Sieve and add the Gelatin to this puree and mix well.
- Now add the low fat yogurt to this and mix well.
- Add the fluffy egg white into this mixture and gently fold it so that it is all well incorporated.
- Once the mixture is ready, transfer the content to serving bowls/glasses.
- Cover the bowls with cling wrap and refrigerate it for almost 2 hours or more. Overnight is better.
- Strawberry Mousse is ready to be served. Top it up with some cream and freshly cut strawberries….
TIP - You
could also use Whipping cream if you like instead of yogurt.
