Moong Dal Oats Tikki


Ingredients:

  1. Moong Dal - 3/4 cup
  2. Oats - 3tsp
  3. Chopped Onion - 1 no.
  4. Chopped Green Chillies - 2 to 3 nos.
  5. Chopped Ginger - 1 inch stick
  6. Chopped Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
  7. Chopped curry leaves - 2 tsp
  8. Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
  9. Salt - to taste
  10. Oil - for shallow frying

Preparation:
  1. Soak the moong dal in water for 4 hours.
  2. Pressure cook moong dal along with little salt until 2 whistles.
  3. Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan.
  4. Add chopped onion and saute until it turns soft.
  5. Add chopped ginger, green chillies, curry leaves, little salt and fry until onion starts turning slightly brown.
  6. Add the garam masala and mix well.
  7. Now add the cooked moong dal and mix well.
  8. When the mixture becomes cool, add powdered oats and coriander leaves.Mix all the ingredients well.
  9. Divide the mix into small portions and make tikkis out of it.
  10. Heat oil in a tawa.
  11. Place the tikkis one by one and shallow fry on a low flame until one side turns golden brown. Repeat the same on the other side as well.
  12. Remove from flame and serve hot with green chutney.
