White Pomfret (Avoli) Fry


Ingredients

  1. White Pomfret - Cleaned and Washed - 2
  2. Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp
  3. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  4. Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  5. Salt - 1/4 tsp
  6. Fennel powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Black Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  8. Oil - for frying

Preparation 
  1. Cut long slits on both sides of the fish.
  2. Take a bowl. Add all the above ingredients from 2 to 7 and mix well.
  3. Add little water to this and make a thick paste.
  4. Marinate the fish with this paste and set aside for 15 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, fry the pomfret on a medium flame on both the sides until it is done.
  6. You can add some curry leaves and fry towards the end for extra flavour
  7. Remove the fish from oil and transfer to a paper towel so that excess oil gets absorbed.
  8. Serve with hot rice.
